One individual, a lady from Charleston South Carolina, who was visiting Oman during the Muscat Festival noted the commonalities of the two citiesfriendly people, beautiful coastlines, sea-faring historiesand approached the Municipality of Muscat and requested the opportunity to put a booth at the next festival which would showcase the history and culture of Charleston. |

The cooperation of the Municipality of Muscat was essential for the success of this ongoing initiative. Also the U.S. embassy in Oman has contributed to this project. |

| Resultados concretos |
For the 2004 festival eight Americans took part. In 2005 the number was 12 and in 2006 25 Americans participated. But the real success of the Muscat Festival initiative cannot be quantified by the level of participationrather the real success is in the quality of the conversations and the opportunity for cross-cultural understanding the venue affords. |
